Department of Epidemiology, Evidence-Based Medicine and Biostatistics

The department was created by the decision of the Academic Council No. 13 of 27 September, 2016 by combining the Department of “Epidemiology and Organization of Consumer Rights Protection” and “Biostatistics, Evidence Medicine and Information Technologies”. The departments have been the leaders among schools for training master’s and doctoral students, specialists in practical healthcare in the field of epidemiology, hygiene and statistical analysis of scientific research results. One of the merits of the departments is that not a single master’s and doctoral studies could do without advice on the use of modern methods of epidemiology, evidence-based medicine, public health as well as mathematical and statistical analysis, especially in the preparation of doctoral students (PhD). Many prominent heads of the HCO of Kazakhstan are students of the department faculty. There are 5 doctoral and 16 master’s theses being undertaken at the department in 2016-2017.
