Public Health and Healthcare

The Department of Public Health and Healthcare was established in 1998 under its original name, “Health Promotion and Social Sciences.” In subsequent years, as its scope of activities expanded, the department was known as “Health Policy and Management,” “Public Health,” and “Public Health and Social Sciences.” Effective August 28, 2026, by decision of the Academic Council, the Department of “Public Health and Social Sciences” was renamed the Department of “Public Health and Healthcare.” The department’s main areas of activity include education, research, consulting, and expert services in public health and healthcare, health promotion, public health policy, disease prevention, bioethics, and research methodology. The department is responsible for graduating students from the master’s and doctoral (PhD) programs in Public Health. It provides training through long-term educational programs, offers short courses and retraining programs, and delivers instruction using distance learning technologies. The department’s staff actively participate in international projects and collaborate with leading universities abroad.
