From June 10 to 22, 2024, employees of the Department of International Affairs of the Kazakhstan’s Medical University “KSPH” Sarsembayeva D. and Minzhassarova K. completed internship at the WHO Office for Quality of Medical care and patient Safety in Athens.
The purpose of the internship is the implementation of common projects, the preparation of roadmaps, the exchange of experience, the study of WHO programs and recommendations.
During the internship, a number of issues related to the quality of medical care and patient safety were worked out. In addition to the main tasks set, the staff of the KMU “KSPH” were included in the WHO leadership course program for management and medical specialists from near and far abroad, aimed at developing leadership potential, achieving global health goals, as well as improving the level of knowledge in the field of healthcare.
During the trip, a number of working meetings were held with the head of the WHO Athens Office, Dr. Joao Breda, and with colleagues, where issues of cooperation, health issues of the Republic of Kazakhstan, common problems and solutions were also discussed.
The internship provided an opportunity to better understand WHO’s technical and administrative programs and enrich knowledge and experience in various fields, which allows the university to make an even greater contribution to the development of public health in the country and the region in the future.
