On April 20, 2026, Kazakhstan’s Medical University “KSPH” hosted the festive event “Nauryz-Duman” dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz, one of the most important traditional holidays symbolizing renewal, unity, prosperity, and the arrival of spring.

The main purpose of the event was to promote national traditions, preserve the cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, and strengthen spiritual and cultural values among students and university staff.

The celebration opened with a musical performance by the specially invited ensemble “Rukhaniyat Serileri” from Taldykorgan, a group renowned for its performances on the international stage.

The official part of the event began with a congratulatory speech delivered by the Rector of Kazakhstan’s Medical University “KSPH”. The audience also enjoyed a traditional *kui* performance by college student Dariya Baiberik Sergalikyzy Inkar. The event continued with a traditional blessing (*Bata*) delivered by Kuralbai Kurakbayev.

As part of the cultural program, first-year college students performed the traditional Kazakh dance “Kazakh Bi.” Another highlight of the celebration was the Avar folk dance presented by college students Khabiba Lazgieva and Karolina Ismailova, showcasing cultural diversity and friendship among different ethnic groups.

A special feature of the event was a series of theatrical performances dedicated to Kazakh national traditions that accompany a person throughout different stages of life.

Doctoral students of the Department of Public Health and Social Sciences presented the performance “Suyinshi and Besik Toi,” introducing traditions associated with the birth of a child and the ceremonial placement of a newborn into a cradle.

The Department of Pedagogy, Psychology and General Education Disciplines demonstrated the traditional “Tusau Kesu” ceremony, symbolizing a child’s first steps and wishing them a bright and successful future.

The Department of Epidemiology, Evidence-Based Medicine and Biostatistics, together with the Department of Healthcare Management, presented the traditions of “Shashu” and serving Nauryz Kozhe, emphasizing the values of generosity, prosperity, and unity.

The thematic program concluded with performances illustrating the traditional ceremonies of “Sundet Toi” (circumcision celebration) and “Atka Mingizu” (the first horse-riding ceremony), which symbolize important milestones in a boy’s development and transition into adulthood.

A musical gift for the guests was the performance of the song “Little Man” by Sabina Imanbayeva, Head of the Media Center of Kazakhstan’s Medical University “KSPH”.

The celebration concluded with a vibrant performance by the “Rukhaniyat Serileri” ensemble, creating a joyful atmosphere and bringing together students, faculty, and guests in the spirit of friendship, cultural appreciation, and national unity.

The “Nauryz-Duman” celebration became a memorable event in the university’s cultural life, contributing to the preservation of national heritage, the promotion of traditional values, and the strengthening of intergenerational continuity.
