Rector of KMU “KSPH” participated in the opening of a Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Facility at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University
On 23 October 2026, the official opening of a pilot and technology workshop at the Laboratory of electrochemical production technologies took place at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event was attended by Auyezova Ardak Muhanbetzhanovna, Rector of Kazakhstan’s medical university “KSPH”, who learned about the activities of the new research and production facility and the innovative technologies presented there.
One of the key areas of the facility’s work is the recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries. Modern technological solutions make it possible to recover valuable components from used batteries, facilitate their reuse, and reduce the negative environmental impact of waste.
The implementation of this project contributes to the development of green technologies, the rational use of natural resources, improved environmental safety, and stronger cooperation between science and industry.
During the event, participants were introduced to the technological capabilities of the new facility, the main stages of lithium-ion battery recycling, and the prospects for the practical application of scientific developments.
The participation of Auyezova Ardak Muhanbetzhanovna, Rector of KMU “KSPH”, in this event highlights the importance of inter-university scientific cooperation, the exchange of innovative expertise, and support for initiatives aimed at advancing sustainable development and environmental protection.
