The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has developed and approved amendments to the orders regarding the revision of procedures for assigning qualification categories.
According to these changes, the following categories of medical workers are exempt from the stages of knowledge assessment and case testing:
• Those whose qualification category expired after January 1, 2021;
• Those reissuing a permanent (non-expiring) category;
• Those confirming their current qualification level.
In addition, for medical workers with technical and vocational education who have obtained post-secondary or higher medical education in the specialty of “Nursing,” the level of qualification equivalent to the qualification category is preserved, taking into account their previous work experience.
Previously, in response to numerous appeals from healthcare professionals and to reduce the financial burden on medical workers, it was decided to exempt them from paying for the first retake of the exam in case of an unsatisfactory result. The cost of the qualification assessment for nurses has also been reduced from 21,000 to 17,000 tenge.
Medical workers may undergo the qualification level confirmation procedure 10 days after the enactment of this order.
