World Patient Safety Day. It was established by the World Health Organization in 2019. The meaning of the World Patient Safety Day is expressed by the fundamental principle of medicine, “do no harm.” Its mission is to raise awareness and increase public participation, deepen understanding of the problem around the world, strengthen global solidarity and the efforts of Member States to ensure patient safety. Every year, a new theme is chosen for World Patient Safety Day. Taking into account the role of patients themselves, their family members and caregivers in ensuring the safety of medical care, the theme of 2023 was “Enhancing the role of patients in the safe provision of medical care.” According to WHO, partnerships with patients in the provision of care can significantly improve patient safety and satisfaction and significantly improve the results of the treatment and diagnostic process.

KSPH University, together with the world medical community and WHO, will join in the celebration of this day.
