On April 6, 2026, at KMU “KSPH”, as part of Science Day, a workshop titled “Selecting International Scientific Journals and Publishing Articles” was held.

The aim of the event was to enhance the competencies of young scientists and researchers in selecting international scientific journals, preparing high-quality scientific publications, and understanding the requirements of the publication process.

The lecture was delivered by Inesh Yergazievna Kenzhina, PhD, Associate Professor, official representative of Clarivate in the CIS countries, a specialist in scientometrics, and a researcher in structural and functional materials for nuclear power installations.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to the main criteria for selecting journals indexed in international databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. The speaker explained impact factor and quartile indicators and provided recommendations on identifying predatory journals.

The speaker also elaborated on the structure of a scientific article (IMRAD format), the specifics of academic writing, and the preparation of abstracts and keywords. Additionally, the stages of manuscript submission, the peer-review process, interaction with journal editors, and the procedure for making revisions were discussed.

As part of the workshop, participants received practical recommendations, asked questions of interest, and became familiar with tools aimed at improving the quality of scientific publications. The event contributed to the development of scientific potential and the integration of Kazakhstani researchers into the international scientific community.
