From May 12 to 16, 2025, Kazakhstan held Reproductive Health Week, organized by the National Commission on Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with support from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The aim of the events was to raise public awareness about reproductive health, personal hygiene, puberty, prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and human papillomavirus (HPV).

Over five days, open-door events were held in primary healthcare organizations and Youth Health Centers across all regions of the country. Men and women of reproductive age, adolescents, and young people received advisory and informational support.

Each day focused on a specific theme: family planning, women’s health, men’s health, youth and STI prevention, and HPV prevention.

Summing up the week, the Ministry of Health reported that 14,350 events were held across the republic, reaching a total of 358,498 people, including 83,389 men, 157,476 women, and 117,633 adolescents.

A total of 3,636 educational meetings and lectures were conducted with the participation of gynecologists, urologists, infectious disease specialists, and other professionals.

Additionally, 238 expert comments, interviews, and media appearances were published in the press.

The highest levels of participation and engagement were recorded in the cities of Almaty and Astana, as well as in the Aktobe, Turkestan, and Karaganda regions.

Special attention was given to adolescents: more than 117,000 gained access to reliable information on health and disease prevention. Doctors and specialists worked in schools, colleges, and digital platforms such as social media and television.

“Fostering a culture of reproductive health and preventive medicine is a vital contribution to the health of future generations. We thank all regions, healthcare workers, partners, and media for their active participation. Reproductive Health Week will become an annual initiative, uniting the efforts of the state, healthcare system, and society,” noted the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
