On December 4-5, in Astana hosted a meeting of the Interdepartmental Technical Working Group “Unified Health for a sustainable health system in Kazakhstan”, organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the USAID project “Sustainability of the local health system” in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the meeting was to coordinate the implementation of intersectoral cooperation within the framework of the “Unified Health” approach in Kazakhstan, the results of the implementation of key provisions of the resolution of the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Technical Working Group “Unified Health for a Sustainable Health System in Kazakhstan” (February 8-9, 2024, Astana) and the coordination of the Interdepartmental Roadmap on Unified Health (One Health) in Kazakhstan for 2025-2027. to combat emerging and endemic zoonotic diseases and other health threats in the Human–Animal–Environment system.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Ministries of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, national and international partners.

The results of the implementation of the Resolution of the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Technical Working Group were presented to the audience by Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akhmetova Z.A., Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tyulegenov S.B., Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kim A.V., Chairman of the Board of the “National Center for Public Health” Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yesmagambetova A.S. At the sessions of the meeting, representatives of bodies and organizations of intersectoral cooperation and international experts informed about the work done. During the 4th session, where the moderators were Deputy Chairman of the Board of the “National Center for Public Health” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Smagul M.A. and Vice-Rector for Academic and Scientific Activities of the Kazakhstan’s Medical University “KSPH” Kamaliyev M.A. and discussed Roadmap for Unified Health for a sustainable healthcare system in Kazakhstan for 2025-2027. Professor Kamaliev M.A. presented university initiatives for the intersectoral approach “Unified Health”, which were reflected in the resolution of the meeting.
