On May 14, the Republican Job Fair-2024 was held in Almaty, organized by the Association of Clinics in Almaty with the support of the Kazakhstan’s Medical University “KSPH”, the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, the Kazakh-Russian Medical University and the Central City Clinical Hospital. About 100 employers from government agencies and organizations from different regions of the country and private companies took part in the fair.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there is a huge shortage of healthcare personnel in the country – about 9 thousand medical workers of different profiles. It is noted that the industry needs 4,200 employees of the average medical staff, 4,500 doctors of various profiles.
“According to the adopted legislative amendments, a monetary payment in the amount of 100 minimum wages or 8.5 million tenge has been established for medical workers employed in rural regions. This step not only recognizes the importance of the work of medical personnel in remote areas, but also stimulates their professional activities,” said Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazarova.
In addition, in order to eliminate the shortage of medical personnel, an annual increase in scholarships for future doctors by 15-20% is provided, and the cost of the state educational order has been revised to make medical education more attractive for young specialists.
In addition, the Ministry plans to create a National System of accounting for human resources in healthcare (Professional Register), which will allow for more effective planning and management of personnel in the healthcare sector.
Saule Galimovna Nukusheva, President of the Association of Clinics of Almaty, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor as noted: “The job fair will give employers and local executive bodies the opportunity to fill the necessary need for personnel, and graduates will get their first job.”
The fair was held at the site of the Central City Clinical Hospital, which became the venue for the Scientific and Practical Conference “Human Resources of Healthcare: achievements, education and career” to discuss new opportunities and requests for the medical education system and the labor market, achieving high quality of domestic education and healthcare systems, scientific aspects and practical experience of motivation and personnel management health resources.
The event was attended by opinion leaders in the field of medical education, healthcare, heads and representatives of authorized state bodies: Akimat of Almaty, Social Health Insurance Fund, National Center for Public Health, health departments of regions and cities, public and private medical organizations and associations.
The Conference was moderated by graduates of the KMU “KSPH”, experts and leaders of healthcare – Akhmetov Valikhan Issaevich and Dyussenov Rasul Serikovich.
Following the results of the Conference, was adopted a resolution, which was sent to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan to further address the issue of personnel development of healthcare.
A pleasant end to the event was a lottery draw from the sponsor of the event – the Association of Management and Public Health among the participants of the conference and Fair. Three lottery participants became winners and won smartphones. The prizes were presented by the Chairman of the Association Council, MD, Professor Kamaliyev Maksut Adilkhanovich.
The tradition of holding a joint event, a fair and a Conference, will continue in the future.
