The Library of the Kazakhstan’s Medical University “KSPH” is one of the most important departments of the university, which is a scientific and information institution, a support base for the educational, methodological and scientific process for the training of qualified specialists in the field of healthcare.
The library’s fund is equipped with educational, methodical, scientific, and reference literature. Additional sources of acquisition are books donated by the university faculty and other organizations.
The library operates according to the automated library and information system “KABIS”, which complies with international standards. There is an electronic catalog (EC), which reflects all scientific and educational literature in the state, Russian and foreign languages, dissertations and abstracts have been introduced. The electronic catalog forms the databases “Book Fund”, “Card index of readers” and “Electronic resources and articles”.
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in order to create favorable conditions for the formation of a unified scientific and information space, to provide students, researchers of universities and research institutes with electronic resources, provides free centralized access to foreign information resources.
Currently, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KMU “KSPH” has access to electronic resources Scopus Preview, SpingerLink, Wiley Online. Wiley International Publishing House is one of the largest academic publishers publishing full-text scientific resources in all branches of modern science and knowledge. Access to the Cochrane Library evidence-based medicine database has been provided. A “Student Consultant” works in the library www.studentlibrary.ru and “Doctor’s consultant”” www.rosmedlib.ru these are new teachers, national leadership, monographs and joint posts on the media.
Also provided free access to electronic full-text resources: bibliography of the first president of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Electronic Library (KazNEB), Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Open University of Kazakhstan, journal “Clinical Medicine of Kazakhstan”, Justice, Law kz, DOAJ, eLibrary.ru, Antibiotics, literature portal, National Institute of intellectual property, Dictionary, news of Science of Kazakhstan, World Digital Library and other.
